I know that most major credit cards cover insurance for your own car when you rent. Does anyone know if there are any credit cards which cover liability as well?

If you have a car, your car insurance may cover it, mine does. I don't know if credit cards do though

as far as I know credit cards cover only the car nothing or no one inside or outside the car and also don't forget to make sure that: 1 you are a legal driver on the contract 2 your rental isn't longer than 15 days 3 there was no negligence like leaving the car unlocked etc. 4 you decline the car rental insurance 5 you rent and leave the charge on the CC 6 if you're also insured from your personal car the CC might be secondary. 7 check with your credit card for all rules and regulations.

Also credit cards (besides for diners club) only provide secondary coverage for the car. in other words if you have you own car insurance or are included in your parents insurance then they wont cover anything and your insurance rates may go up! The Diners club card offers primary coverage, and amex offers primary if you sign up for a $19.99/rental fee. I dont know of any cards that cover liability...thats what you need to get from the place you are renting from...
